The Women’s Fund Internship Program
The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade is looking for dynamic interns to help us advance women and girls initiatives. Interns will learn how to promote the work of nonprofit organizations, create and maintain engagement with community partners through virtual events, support fundraising and advocacy initiatives, and engage new supporters.
The duration of the internship will be from September to December, 2024. The internship can be for one semester or more depending on the student’s interest and availability.
The student is expected to work a minimum of ten (10) hours per week, or more depending on interest and availability. The student will report to the Senior Research and Policy Manager, Viviana Alvarado Pacheco, and the Programs and Operations Coordinator, Daniella Luna.

✿ Programs Internship Description
Job Title: Programs Intern
Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week
Supervision: Reports to Daniella Luna
Provide program and administrative support to The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade team as you help create change for women and girls through advocacy, research, investment, and impact.
Assist The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade team in driving change for women and girls through advocacy, research, and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly intern meetings to present projects, share findings, and ask questions.
- Meet with the supervisor for one-on-one assessments.
- Participate in monthly Impact Collaboratives and other events.
- Research and invite organizations to Impact Collaboratives.
- Develop personalized outreach efforts and thank-you letters for speakers.
- Record and analyze post-collaborative data, drafting poll and survey reports.
- Use Google Sheets or Excel for data conversion.
- Complete cross-departmental training and projects as needed.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel.
- Strong time management, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills and basic arithmetic knowledge.

Job Title: Advocacy Intern
Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week
Supervision: Reports to Viviana Alvarado Pacheco
Support The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade in fostering community relationships, monitoring legislative activities, and advocating for policy changes that benefit women and girls.
Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly intern meetings to present projects, share findings, and ask questions.
- Meet regularly with the supervisor for one-on-one assessments.
- Participate in monthly Impact Collaboratives, advocacy-related events, and other engagements.
- Build stronger relationships with community partners and maintain an understanding of key stakeholders.
- Conduct outreach to community partners to encourage participation in Impact Collaboratives.
- Create agendas and take notes during meetings with community partners, as well as Advocacy & Legislative committee meetings.
- Research and track legislation at both national and local levels, providing detailed reports to the research team.
- Update and maintain the resource page on the website.
- Complete cross-departmental training and assist in various projects as needed.

Job Title: Policy Research Intern
Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week
Supervision: Reports to Viviana Alvarado Pacheco
Conduct research and data analysis on critical issues affecting women and girls in Miami-Dade County.
Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly research and intern meetings, presenting findings and receiving feedback.
- Conduct research aligned with the organization’s four pillars: Economic Mobility, Freedom from Violence, Health & Well-being, and Leadership.
- Collect and analyze data on the status of women and girls in the community.
- Assist in developing the Gender Equity Dashboard and Index.
- Perform administrative tasks and assist in other projects as needed.
- Complete cross-departmental training and collaborate with other team members.

✿ Social Media Internship Description
Job Title: Social Media
Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week
Supervision: Reports to Natasha Bessolt
Create and manage content across social media platforms to promote The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade’s events and campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly social media planning meetings, introducing upcoming events.
- Create posts, stories, and tweets consistent with the organization’s branding.
- Write captions, tag relevant partners, and monitor engagement across platforms.
- Analyze content performance and update links on Campsite.bio.
- Maintain Eventbrite pages for Impact Collaboratives and events.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors about social media activities.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience with social media platforms, Google Drive, Canva, and graphic design tools.

Job Title: Development Intern
Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week
Supervision: Reports to Samantha Santana
Support organizational growth by researching grants and nonprofits while assisting with donor relationship management.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on nonprofit organizations, grants, and growth opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date data on the status of women and girls in Miami-Dade County.
- Assist in donor relationship management through CRM tasks, including data clean-up.
- Respond to inquiries and manage communications.
- Add donations and update constituent records in CRM.
- Perform administrative tasks and attend meetings as instructed.

Job Title: Grants Intern

Assist The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade in writing grant applications to secure funding for programs that support women and girls.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team to identify grant opportunities.
- Write and edit grant applications, ensuring alignment with funder requirements.
- Research funding sources and develop strong proposals.
- Support the organization’s development goals through effective grant writing.
- Maintain records of grant deadlines and submissions.
