“Ninety percent of leadership is the ability to communicate something people want.”
-Dianne Feinstein
This event took place Thursday, March 17th
A special two hour Impact Collaborative, a hands-on working session, 8:30am-10:30am with Vicki Lopez on how to become an effective advocate.
We will focus on the county budget, items that support women and girls, issues we most care about, and how we can be the best advocate for them.
Our vision as The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade is to leverage resources and rewire systems so that our community becomes a place where women and girls can truly lead and thrive.
We hope you can join us because your voice makes a difference!
Major success story results from our Advocacy 101 Workshop with Vicki Lopez and our August Impact Collaborative!
Angelina Jackson’s video expresses it best, as does L.E.A.P. for Ladies’ Executive Director, Mahlia Lindquists’ quote: “The Women’s Fund Activism 101 presentation with Vicki Lopez was a game changer for LEAP. In our 13 years, we had never seemed to able to break the code on obtaining government funds, despite the fact that we are known in the community for the quality of our services. Just weeks after participating in Advocacy 101, we put Vicki’s candid and practical guidance into practice. As a result we were awarded funds from our county that, for us, are a game changer. We are optimistic that by leveraging the award from the county and following Vicki’s advice, we will also be able to garner support at the state level. The Women’s Fund Advocacy 101 is pure gold and is now required watching for LEAP’s entire staff. “
Many of our staff, Board and Impact Agents followed up on our Call To Action to support the County budget line items that support women and girls and all of them we approved, plus the rewarding of $200,000 to LEAP that was added after their testimony!
