Miami, FL (March 1, 2021) – The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade is delighted to announce the return of its signature Power of the Purse event on Thurs., April 8, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Expected to sell out the maximum capacity of 1,000 attendees, the highly anticipated event will create an opportunity to convene a powerful cadre of Miami-Dade County – executives, business owners, community leaders, public officials, young professionals and philanthropists to fuel solutions on issues facing women and girls that have been exacerbated by the pandemic, and to envision the new opportunities that this disruption could bring. This year, Power of the Purse will be creatively adapted to accommodate current realities and held virtually as an “experiential” Zoom.

“Power of the Purse is back by necessity and by popular demand,” said Marya Meyer, Interim Executive Director of The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade. “Coming into our third decade as an organization amid such a tumultuous year, we wanted to curate this event to serve as a vehicle for our supporters to be re-inspired, engaged and educated on ideal ways to continue to move our collective goals forward. Our community is yearning to mobilize and bring about positive change, and we hope to fulfill this need with the exciting agenda and “Way Forward” we have planned.”

The event will kick off with an impressive, all-women roster of speakers, each set to spark conversations on women leading and learning together. The keynote speech will be delivered by long-time Women’s Fund supporter, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who will delve into her inspiring testimony as a leader and on making history after being recently sworn in as the first Madam Mayor of Miami-Dade County.
