This event took place on March 7 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am

“If advocacy for women and girls is about giving voice to the voiceless – gathering and analyzing data is about making the invisible visible … We cannot close the gender gap without closing the data gap.”
– Melinda Gates

Join your Women’s Fund on March 7th for the highly anticipated release of our transformative Gender Equity Index (GEI) 2024!

In our discussion, we will gather with leaders from diverse industries across our four pillars to discuss how the Gender Equity Index and access to gendered data is valuable to their work and in  making Miami-Dade County a more equitable community. The Gender Equity Index, a comprehensive analysis of local gender inequalities, shines a spotlight on areas of concern and outlines actionable recommendations to pave the way for a more equitable future. Through rigorous analysis, the GEI provides a nuanced understanding of the challenges faced by women and girls in Miami-Dade.

This innovative approach provides a score that measures progress toward gender equity over time, revealing how far Miami-Dade is from achieving gender equality and creating an urgent call to action. The GEI empowers leaders, policymakers, educators, and community members to take action to enhance gender equity in Miami-Dade County.

Save the date for this event, happening virtually, via Zoom Webinar, on Thursday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., as we discuss the importance of data in making women and girls visible in our communities.
