Elise Scheck Bonwitt is an attorney, mediator, author, business owner, and coach. Over the past few years, Elise has also served as legal counsel to several privately-held companies regarding issues such as employment law and corporate transactions. She is currently a principal at Scheck Group, a family office. She is also a Certified Circuit Court Mediator.
Elise co-founded of Amenta, a website that supports artisans and their communities throughout Latin America by selling their products. In addition, she is the co-founder of SImpact, an organization committed to increasing performance of social sector organizations.
Elise has been actively involved in several non-profit organizations. She is a member of the National Women’s Philanthropy Board, a board member of Overtown Youth Center, a vice chair of the JCC, and a Mentor with Women of Tomorrow, where she works with 30 girls at Miami Lakes Educational Center. She is also involved with Greater Miami Jewish Federation and is currently a Vice Chair of the Board. She was chair of the Women’s Impact Initiative and President of Women’s Philanthropy, among other leadership positions. Elise has also given her time and energy to several other boards and committees throughout Miami.
Elise graduated from University of Miami Law School and Columbia University. She completed the Executive Program in Social Impact Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Miami with her husband, Gil Bonwitt. They are the proud parents of five children.
