Join your Women’s Fund on August 1st for a virtual panel dedicated to exploring Neurodivergence, Disability, and Economic Mobility for Women and Girls. Women with disabilities face significant economic barriers, including higher unemployment and increased healthcare costs. Anchored in our Economic Mobility pillar, this event will examine challenges and identify opportunities to promote financial stability and growth for women and girls with disabilities.

According to the 2022 American Community Survey, the unemployment rate for individuals with disabilities in Miami-Dade County is significantly higher than the general population, with a rate of 7.7%. Women and girls with disabilities face additional economic challenges and double discrimination, as there is a greater percentage (11.3%) of women with a disability than men (9.3%).

Our discussion will address the barriers that hinder economic progress for women and girls with disabilities and explore effective strategies and solutions to overcome them. Experts will discuss tools and opportunities to support economic advancement, aiming to foster a more equitable and supportive environment.

Save the date for this virtual event on Thursday, August 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. via Zoom Webinar, as we discuss the vital role of inclusivity in advancing economic mobility for women and girls with neurodivergence and disabilities in Miami-Dade.
