Impact Collaborative: Economic Mobility: A Gender And Family Focus On Affordable Housing
This event took place December 3 @ 9:00 am – 10:30 am
“Miami-Dade County has one of the highest poverty rates for a city its size, placing it in the bottom 8% of all U.S. counties. Despite the extreme poverty, Miami remains among the most expensive places to live.” – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the percentage of children living in single-parent households in Miami-Dade is 39.5 percent — and the majority of those single parents are mothers. Join us on December 3rd to discuss issues and potential solutions associated with the housing challenges that women face in Miami-Dade County, particularly as we brace for a wave of evictions due to the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
