Leadership

Help us advocate and take action to ensure women and girls lead and succeed.

We support programs, policies and initiatives that foster the ability of women and girls in Miami-Dade County to realize their full potential. By identifying and targeting gender-based inequities in recruiting, vendor selection, and leadership track opportunities in private workplaces, government, community institutions and educational settings, we help improve our community for everyone. We convene and collaborate with other agencies and organizations to create systemic change that opens up leadership opportunities for women and girls.

The Opportunities

Promoting high-quality workforce development opportunities will help bring an end to occupational segregation, which is one cause of the wage gap between male and female workers. We advocate for gender-neutral middle- and high-skill education and training as a means for women to secure higher paying jobs and expand employment choices to match current and future demands, such as those in skilled trade, manufacturing, engineering, and technology.

Diverse leadership creates better outcomes; our community suffers when leadership opportunities are limited. We support diversity programs that promote inclusion of women and girls in leadership roles. These can include job opportunities, corporate procurement policies, entrepreneurship programs, organizational leadership searches, leadership development programs, programs to educate candidates for political office, and more.

The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade strengthens the pipeline of women leaders by expanding access to leadership training and mentorship. Our work equips women and girls—especially those historically underrepresented—to lead with impact.

Our Response

The Women’s Fund supports programs, policies, and educational initiatives that improve the lives of women and girls in Miami-Dade County and beyond.
