The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade is proud to recognize Viviana Alvarado Pacheco, Senior Director, Research & Collective Impact, for her participation in a new awareness campaign from The State of Black Arizona, created in collaboration with March of Dimes and the Mom and Baby Action Network.

The campaign focuses on Black maternal and infant health in Arizona, highlighting the urgent need to address the social, environmental, and systemic factors that shape health outcomes for Black mothers, birthing people, babies, and families. In the featured video on Environmental Justice, community leaders and advocates explore how where people live—including access to shade, clean air, clean water, safe transportation, and protection from extreme heat—can directly affect pregnancy, birth outcomes, and infant health.

Viviana’s participation reflects The Women’s Fund Miami-Dade’s commitment to advancing gender equity through research, advocacy, and collective impact. Her work at The Women’s Fund centers data, policy, reproductive justice, and climate action—connecting local and national conversations about how communities can build healthier, safer, and more equitable futures for women, girls, and families.

We are honored to see Viviana lend her voice to this important conversation and help elevate the need to view environmental justice through a reproductive justice lens.
