Applications will be reviewed by members of the WFMD Grants Committee, which is comprised of women representing the multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and multi-generational community that is Miami-Dade. Every effort will be made to identify conflicts of interest and/or perceived conflicts with applicant organizations among Grants Committee members. Members with conflicts will be recused entirely from the review process. During the review process, Grants Committee members may be in touch with applicant organizations to obtain additional information and/or clarify elements of the application. The Grants Committee will make funding recommendations to the WFMD Board, which will make the final funding decisions.
All non-profit organizations and any individually-led or group efforts or programs or coalitions under the umbrella of a non-profit organization are eligible to apply for funds. WFMD encourages organizations and individuals to consider applying as a partnership, group, and/or coalition if a collaborative structure best supports the proposed solution.
The WFMD considers the constellation of organizations serving women and girls as its partner in the mission to realize full gender equity in Miami-Dade County. WFMD hopes that applicants will feel comfortable contacting WFMD (click on this link to ask questions) to propose ideas and seek feedback on any aspects of this application. WFMD works with community-based organizations with a wide range of capacity and is intent on creating a friendly grant application process that bolsters the efforts of partner organizations regardless of the amount of funding received.
- Narrative explaining the project and/or work for which the applicant is requesting funding.
- If applying for one year of funding, a one-year Project Budget including revenue and expenses with line item explanation/narrative. If applying for two years of funding, a two-year Project Budget as described above.
- The annual operating budget of the applicant organization or lead partner organization or fiscal sponsor. An annual budget will suffice as a project budget for those applicants requesting unrestricted support, however as a project budget it must include line-item narrative explanation.
- Copy of the IRS certificate showing approval of the non-profit status of the organization.
- List of the Board of Directors of the applicant organization or lead partner organization or fiscal sponsor.
- A project budget that shows both revenues (grants, earned revenue, donations/dollars raised) raised or received for the project and expenses that will be incurred in operating the project. We ask that you explain each line item in a project budget narrative and identify those line items for which you are requesting WFMD funding. Please note that while there are no requirements for matching funds, we ask you to indicate if other funding sources and/or in-kind contributions are supporting the project. - An organizational annual operating budget showing both revenues and expenses. No budget narrative is necessary for the organizational budget.

If relevant, please also indicate any other source of funds for this project, including in-kind contributions.
