Carrfour Supportive Housing confronts homelessness through a unique approach that combines affordable housing with a comprehensive support service model that is individualized for the needs of each resident. Carrfour’s goal is to minimize each resident’s chances of ever becoming homeless again. The available services, including individualized advocacy, structured aftercare programs, life skills, financial literacy and job placement, provide the basic building blocks required to keep women and children on a path towards self-sufficiency.The funds from this grant will help 10 families, headed by women, move from a survival/crisis mode of living to having a safe and supportive place to call home at Carrfour’s Verde Gardens Housing Development in Homestead.
