Casa Valentina provides housing and support services to youth transitioning from foster care to independent living. It helps them achieve their full potential and gain the skills they need to live independently. Casa Valentina first opened its doors in 2006 to six young women and can now serve twelve women at a time, as well as four women with children. Residents live in safe, affordable housing and are encouraged to stay for at least two years. Each resident receives individualized case management that includes academic and career planning support and life-skills training. Upon completion of the program, each resident continues to receive after-care services as needed to ensure a successful transition to independent living.
