Organization Description:
Educate Tomorrow supports foster youth in Miami through education, mentoring and life skills training. Educate Tomorrow’s professional staff, network of volunteers and community partners assist in caring for Miami’s foster youth from their early teen years to adulthood.
Project Description:
In partnership with Miami Dade College, Educate Tomorrow’s Finding Your Power, Purpose and Presence (P3) Women’s Executive Internship program is a three credit college course taught by Educate Tomorrow staff. It is designed to help former foster or recently homeless women who are attending college using a tuition waiver. They learn to overcome past trauma, build self-confidence, and gain valuable work experience. Once the course is completed, alumnae stay connected with their cohort and previous participants by participating in monthly Women’s “Sista” Circles, where they gain support, strengthen their bonds, and network.
