  • Super Bowl LIV is coming to Miami. Sex Trafficking is NOT coming to Miami. It is already here,  365 days a year, and every minute on social media. It is hidden in plain sight.
  • Miami-Dade is number one for trafficking in Florida. Florida ranks third in the country for trafficking. (source: Polaris).
  • 67 percent of victims are local Miami-Dade.
  • Human Trafficking is a $32 billion dollar organized crime industry in the United States and will only be combated by a coordinated effort engaging our entire community of corporations; elected officials; non-profit organizations; federal, state, and local law enforcement; and the community at large.
  • Children have reported being sold up to 20 times in a day.
  • 83 percent of sex trafficking victims in the U.S. are U.S. citizens.
  • Sex traffickers target our most vulnerable children, particularly runaways and children in our child welfare system.
  • Some estimates project that a trafficker can make $150,000-$200,000 per child per year and average 4-6 children.
  • Most victims in Miami-Dade County are local girls and young women
  • Approximately 40 percent of victims are minors, and 60 percent are adults with an average age of 18-23 years old.
  • Of all minor victims, 96 percent are females, and 92 percent of adult victims are female.
